I originally wrote this post over on my baby and family photography site LMAC Studio. I wanted to share it again here because I’m teaching a Photoshop for Beginners Workshop on Thursday night at Studio688. Below is just a little example of what mastering Photoshop can do for you!
We all know how difficult photographing our children can be. Getting them to sit still and even act interested is one thing, but then there are stains, boogers, cowlicks, drool, bruises, and all the other bodily functions that our lovely kids produce. Or sometimes, you end up with a great shot that just so happens to be off center, someone’s eyes are closed, or maybe the kiddo moves suddenly, making for a less-than-desired reject photo. Even when a photo session doesn’t go as smoothly as planned, I always encourage parents to wait for the finished images because I have the ability to turn any image from “ho-hum” to “wow” with just a little computer magic and a few years of experience under my belt. I know that children are not perfect, and no matter how much candy you bribe them with, or how long of a nap they take, things just don’t always go as planned.
Here are a couple of examples of what I do behind the scenes:
