How We Got Started
In 2012, Lisa Mac opened her Midtown photography business at 688 S. Cox. She eventually expanded into the entire building and added her unique design style to every inch of it. It was always her dream to grow the studio into a creative co-working space… a place where people can get inspired and learn to inspire others.
In 2015 her dream came true.
Studio688 is where creative people do cool stuff in the same place.
Studio688 is about collaborating with others so that our work gets better and we grow our businesses. Each team member here has a different talent to share. It’s like working at a full service creative agency, except you still get to be your own boss.
Studio688 was designed for creative collaboration. We’re intentionally small but mighty, with dedicated desk space for four members who are the exact right fit for our mission. Members have access to business building workshops, video and photography equipment that would cost hundreds to own, great coffee, fantastic event space, and an inspiring place to work everyday.
Meet The Team
The Studio688 team is a motley crew of creatives who can do pretty much anything together. We bring you stories of creativity from around Memphis and beyond, teach others how to do what we do best, and keep Studio688 going strong!
Artrepreneur & Studio 688 Founder
I use photography, art, and music to tell stories. After studying art and design at the University of Memphis, I opened a photography studio in Midtown Memphis.
While I specialize in corporate and editorial style photography, I also work with local artists and business owners to improve their branding and online presence.
The FedEx Forum houses a few of my pop art paintings, which are truly a celebration of my passion for color and design. I also enjoy painting abstracts and landscapes using acrylics and texture.

Entrepreneurs and community builders work with me to do big things with marketing and design.
Like many creative entrepreneurs, my path has been a winding one. I earned a Masters degree in French from the University of Mississippi. A love of learning took me to France as a student, and an explorer’s heart keeps me traveling whenever possible, although my French is a bit rusty these days.
In 2014, I published Memphis Type History: Signs and Stories from Just Around the Corner with Memphis artist Rebecca Phillips.
There’s a side to artists that never grows up. Childlike eyes see everything for the first time. Whether it’s a song, picture, or branding session, I find there are endless ways to communicate an idea. My right brain likes to dream big while my left brain organizes the steps to make the dream a reality.
I have two studio albums: Whispered World (2015) and Late Night, Early Call (2013). I founded Twentythree Publishing in 2010.
Dilettante Collection Founder
Even though I was working in public accounting and corporate finance, I still felt the creative pull of artistic hobbies. I began designing garments when I wasn’t able to find exactly what I was looking for. An overwhelming positive response from my first creations resulted in me learning to design, draw, and sew in earnest. In addition to designing a clothing line, I create custom fashions for clients, blogs, and work as a wardrobe consultant and editorial photography stylist.

We are college sweethearts who took our love of photography and turned that into a way to serve others and follow our dreams at the same time. We started 3eight Photography in 2014 and love every minute we’ve been able to spend getting to know brides and grooms here in Memphis.
