We’ve known Brandi Marter, founder, owner, and chef at Bedrock Eats and Sweets for several years. We met at a local Crossfit gym and had the pleasure of watching as Brandi transformed from baker at a catering company, to head pasty chef at YoLo Bakes, to founder of Bedrock Eats and Sweets. This lady is a force to be reckoned with; a hard working, Crossfitting, dynamo.
This summer, Brandi moved Bedrock from YoLo on Cooper in Midtown to its new home on South Main, in downtown Memphis. With this move, Bedrock added a full service restaurant to its repertoire. Customers can still pre-order healthy foods (Paleo, gluten, dairy, and wheat-free) and pick them up at the downtown location (or at many Crossfit gyms in the Memphis area). However, now, they can also enjoy hot-off-the-grill foods made to order in this charming addition to the South Main landscape.
Last week, Studio688 photographer, Keegan Eyler and I visited Bedrock for a scrumptious lunch. Also, obviously, we snapped a few photos. We hope you enjoy a pictorial tour of one Downtown Memphis’ newest and healthiest hot spots.
Bedrock Eats and sweets is located smack-dab in the middle of the South Main Arts District in Downtown Memphis (right next door to historic S. Main watering hole, The Green Beetle and in the shadow of The Orpheum Theater). Visit Brandi Monday through Saturday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Us 688-ers hope to cross paths with you there soon.
